yes your are right one of the guys who has coupe cut off the inner fenders welded the fenders to the shroud and stuffed in a SBC with a blower its awesome

but this is just going back to mostly original form

another 3 hours......from this point in it will be working on about a 2' x 2' section at a time. this is really good because once its in primer/surface coat you can see where you need spend your time and you can be very focused. so I will do body work for about 30 mins each night. not enough to get bored but just enough time to move the project forward.

it will be Red out side with a grey leather interior and grey carpeting. the color is coded into the VIN so on this project its staying pretty true to original form. not 100% correct but as close as I can get without killing my self or spending any silly money.

that quarter scuttle that the steering wheel is hanging on is the test color with out the final color sanding or clear coat

my wife has been watching the two grand children while the kids are at work, and it turns out that what we use to do easily like grocery shopping, cleaning, yard work etc now has taken on a whole different dimension and it has encroached upon my shop time.....oh well we will just have to adjust

lets take care of some areas

well the creative juices were flowing this am fueled by a gift of a fork lift extender.....along with two pieces of a snow plow picked up off the road over the years, the base weighs about 125. all together about 210 lbs. the bead roller is bolted so it can still be used in the vise and the planishing hammer can get mounted on the stand also

20150517_105518_zpszdropyh8.jpg

20150517_113719_zpse3a7zmgn.jpg

the base 5/8" x 6 x 24" doubled up to 12"

20150517_121239_zpszchvzy3c.jpg

20150517_121345_zpslcvaxsud.jpg

and it works as planned
