I believe the announcer said it was an original cobra. He talks about 7 figure value and having parts to put it back to original. Hard to believe.

Pop's suspension was basically c3 with coil overs, I think.

I have seen the car at Danny's shop. You are right, I think the only suspension change is coil overs and sway bars. It's not all car though, he can really drive!

Yes, some major skill involved there.

More auto-x.

" White w/Black interior. ZO6 327/360hp, fuel injected, 4-spd. manual transmission.

In 1963, what did the fastest man on earth drive to work?
Mickey Thompson drove this Z06 Corvette #6844

For nearly two decades, this Z06 Corvette was thought to have been used
by Mickey Thompson to test Sears Allstate Tires on the Bonneville Salt Flats. However, over the past several years, a cloud of doubt surrounded this claim.

As a famous drag racer of the period and holder of a 406 mph speed record, Thompson chose this 1963 Z06 Corvette (#6844) to fit his brand image of speed. Although not the Bonneville test car, Thompson would have likely spent more time driving #6844 than all four of his other Z06 race Corvettes.

Besides being his personal Corvette, #6844 was also used as the advertising model for one of his speed accessories—Mickey Thompson mag wheels.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Mickey Thompson's personal ZO6
- Previously known to be "The Sears/Allstate Tire Test Car"
- Recently discovered by David Burroughs' Prove It to be Thompson's personal driver
- Thompson likely spent more time driving #6844 than all four of his other ZO6 race Corvettes
- #6844 was also used as the advertising model for Mickey Thompson mag wheels
- L84 327/360 HP Fuel Injection
- M20 close-ratio 4-speed transmission
- N03 36 gallon fuel tank"
