New member here.

First off, would like to say that there is so much GREAT information here. Information that I find inspiring. A lot of "thinking outside the box" mentality, and I like it.

So... I bought this "project" 69' from a friend of a friends brothers sisters cousins great wifes uncle (or something like that). Didn't do too much research on Corvettes prior to purchasing. Met the guy where the car was stored for the past 10 years outside on a trailer on the side of a commercial building. The price at the time seemed "amazing" to me, so I purchased it.

3 years later and I have yet to sit in the car, let alone drive it as the car came in boxes of parts. I quickly discovered after taking possession of the car that it had some front end frame damage. I'm no professional welder but the repair was shotty looking at best. I needed to decide if I was going to back out, leave it as is and reassemble the car, or do it right the first time. Well, I don't like the shortcut route and backing out would show defeat so I decided to find a replacement.

Needless to say the project has been overwhelming at times, enjoyable, frustrating, and probably every other emotion you can think of but the project is still moving forward.

At work right now and I've probably spent more time then I should have reading posts here so I'm going to cut myself off.

Just wanted to introduce myself and looking forward to reading more posts/info here.

Thanks, Kevin

It runs. Did 1 full lap around the storage unit. Now rebuilding the rear wheel bearings. Found some dents in the half shafts so after much research decided to go with Toms 3.5".

That's got to feel good.

Engine sounds healthy.

welcome. I'm a big fan of restomodding cars that are either so ubiquitous or so damaged that bringing them back to original condition makes no sense. Even my 76 was that way - between the outside body damage and the frame damage.... it was either resto mod or use it for parts.
