Takes 3 hits to the starter to start it, hot or cold....

plenty of power, runs smooth, just hates to start.....

code sez something about cat ass trophic converter, but plenty of power sorta negates that,

O2 sensors through EGR to MAF are suggestions, on the manuals, but none of that seems to be the case, except my wife's 99 Escort had a EGR messup and I finally fixed it....but that had entirely different symptoms....

anyone??

NOT my car, helping a friend's daughter, .....

trying to get her though school and job shit....

Oh shit I missread again , sorry.

Ok here it is, my wife had the same problem, I think EGR or MAF or any other sensors has nothing to do with this Gene,

it was more a case of "menaupause" (Gene, thats when the ovaries run out of eggs)

In the begining, she might take a few times to start up but with time she might get worse symptoms, like extreme mood swings hot flushes and sweating

Measurement of the hormones is called follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and lutenising hormone (LH)] and is the basis of tests to diagnose the menopause.

HRT (hormone replacement therapy) will usualy help.

If not??? get the "hand crank" and good luck my friend, we're on your side!!

Weak fuel pump. My truck did the same thing for a year, then the pump quit. They last about 5,000 hrs.
Change that in tank pump, as 9 years is about all they last anyhow. Bet it goes away.

can of starter fluid 3 bucks

I'm serious. Get 3 foot of small tube, drill a small hole in the intake plenum after the buterfly run it into the passenger compt and mount a can of starter fluid to the dash.

One squrit per start. A can should last a few months.

The old bomb on the dash trick eh?

Here you go Gene, it's from another Ford so it should fit great on your 03 Tbucket

I responded to the "last image posted" before 1Michel referred me to this post. Once again, the comment is that to hand crank an engine, as shown in the photo, you DO NOT wrap your thumb around the crank. You grab the crank in the palm of your hand and grab it with your four fingers. The thumb position is to stick you thumb out into the "air." When you hand crank an engine, they can backfire. It'll give your thumb a good thumping. I've heard that peoples thumbs have been broken. I used to hand crank a TR-3 and it was so bad at backfiring during cranking, I ended up cranking it with my foot. Later found out the timing was off.

....maybe an administrator can delete my posting under "Engine" ........how many forums have advice on hand cranking engines these days??????

Funny family story about that, this from the early 50's.....Dad drove a '49 Buick, and traded it in on a '53 Packard Clipper, so switching car companies, I asked about what was his first car.....he said a model T Ford, so what did you buy next?? Chevy.....why did you leave Ford? Mom looked at Dad and snickered, Dad said the crank nearly broke his wrist, snapped back on him....so for Kettering and the electric start, he went Chevrolet.....:gurney: so I assume he drove the Chevy during WW2 then went to Buick, Packard, then into a used '56 Caddy, then a used 59 Caddy, the car I got my license with, try parallel parking a boat THAT long, must have been 50' long....:hissyfit::censored: Dad used to set the garage door on the tail fins, making it look like a cat looking out the door, ears up in the air....
