Think one of the previous owners wrecked it and this was the cheapest repair. slap on some resell red and ship it abroad.

I dunno man, the look of that pix and that car looked GOOD to me....

lots better than mine, surely....I'd been happy as a clam....

The 69 front end looked good. It looks lke it's coming along fine....been working on my vette since 2003:lol:

Don't get fooled with the first picture::

on the left site (right on the foto) was a big crack, internally there was a s.load of home made brackets, paint shipped off.

I dont see the differences in front clips .... Or are you just going for a GM numbers match or something or the gills different?

same here... I don't see a huge difference either....what's the difference? Eggcrate grilles ?? You must be a perfectionist, I'd be perfectly fine with a 69 front if I owned a chrome bumper :D

Hahha, lets play a game find the, 7 differences ;-).

Putting in the proper grills is a fist, you don't have to be a perfectionist, I think? Fixing cracks is a must!

Hahha, lets play a game find the, 7 differences ;-).

Starting with the most obvious......
1.. Hood.. assuming you did replace it with a correct '72.
2.. Color
3.. Grilles.. which you did mention.
4.. Outer grill moldings
5.. Turn signal lamps.. Round for '69... Square of '72.
6.. Side Marker Lamps
7.. Side grills in fenders.
8.. Headlamp washers (standard in '72) Assuming this was no longer installed.
9.. Front Guard to Bumper (vertical chrome piece each side of tag)

Did I win anything???

The hood that came with the car is so damn ugly, the angles are so different compared to the front original. Replaced it with L88.

(side changes)
6.. Side Marker Lamps (left them)
7.. Side grills in fenders. (under construction)
... 72 has a flare at the back of the wheel well arc (left them)

Missed (not visible):
Frame extensions
outer bumper extensions
Corvette Side Grille Brackets
Corvette center Grille Brackets

Gene,

This was from the "VETTE VUES Fact Book".... according to them the washers were standard starting in '70.

For all the world, where/how do those 'headlamp washers' go/fit??

My 1982 has headlamp washer, it only works about 20% of the time though. Just hand my son some windex and a towel and presto clean headlights!
