What size tires to run

The racer on the other forum(RAY 72) ran 25.5x10x15 fronts and 26.5x9.5x15 on the rear. He said he had a problem with over steer though and I imagine it's because of the wider front tire

These are the crappy 27x11x15's I have now on 15x10's

After some research 68-72 big block cars running SVRA are using 27.5x11x15 rears and 25.5x10x15 if they are running hoosiers

So they should work pretty well

I'll add some pics in a bit

the car #88 was raced by Dick Mooney (I say was because Dick died last year). I would be willing to bet he used 245-45X15 in the front and a 26.5-9.5X15 rear. Which is the tire most vintage guys use...you will find them on the Hoosier tire site, one is a vintage tire and one a historic tire, those are probably the same sizes Panic is using. A friend of mine just bought a set at the SVRA May race at Elkhart Lake and paid $830 mounted and balanced.....

PS: if you look behind me six cars you will see a blue roadster with a wide white stripe...also Dick Mooney...he had three Corvette race cars.

Are the tire sizes you mentioned on 15x10's?

With the 26.5 I'll still be toping out at 130 at 6800 so that should be about 110-115 with other factors. That plenty for the straight at sebring.

And 380 for a set :shocking: How did he get them so cheap?

Do you need full l88 flares for those tires? Seems like no flares up front and a small rear one would be fine. The section width is an inch smaller than my current front tires.

Some people suffer from dyslexia,,,, I kinda enjoy it.... used to have my numbers cut backwards,,, still use a backwards 5,, on some tags...

Those look like the flares vanacore sells. some with flaps some without.

The front must be the DOT Approved Sports Car Bias Ply

I about 99.9% positive these are the 245/45/15 fronts and 26.5x9.5x15 rears
