Default Stupid question: C4 hatch manual release method?

Just curious. Is it possible to open the rear window hatch manually? I've got the battery out, and I'm too damn lazy to put it in just to pop the rear window/hatch open.

Or do I need to just quit bitching and temporarily hook the battery up with some jumper cables?

Thanks!

That's kinda what I figured. There didn't seem to be anything obvious at the latch area when I took a glance at it.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I was wrong. Its there but just hidden under trim or carpet:

THE RELEASE CABLE IS LOCATED 3 TO 4 INCHES RIGHT OF CENTER. TO REACH THE CABLE SLIDE YOUR HAND BETWEEN THE CARPET AND THE SECURITY SHADE

Damn, you're right!

There is no way in hell I would have found that if I had just looked on a guess/hope for a release button/knob/cable. The cable is either broken on one end or had the (assumed) pull button ripped off. I had to wrap the loose cable around my finger and pull. But damn, it worked.

I bought that car in 1989, and in all that time I have never heard one person talk about a manual release for the C4 hatch.

I greatly appreciate it, Larry.
