hazard lights??

How do you turn on the hazard lights on my 81? I see the switch on the steering column but how does it work? I tried pushing it in but it does not push in?:sos:

Dean, not surprising, that part of the TS switch assy is not too stable, you can try fiddling with the mounting screws a tad and the button assy breaks off sometimes inside on the little slide...

unless you have to pass some inspection, I would just ignore it....

On mine, (81) you pull it out to turn it on.

Can't be, you push it in, just the inner part not the collar. You pull the collar to disengage the hazards.

Are you pushing the center in ? If I remember right the center pushes in and to turn it off you pull on the outer sleeve.
