Well I'm back home, -22 celcius.
That hurts.
Trip went well didnt lose too much money and spend a great week away from the - 30 here in Montreal. Couldn't reach Clutchdust I left home before he answered (my fault) + I didnt bring the laptop and completely forgot about internet access.
Looked for the 13RED that Bird talked about, (Hey Bird, your PM is full) couldnt find it soooo I didnt make too much money off that one huh??? LOL
Oh well, I'll have t go back I guess.
Went to Shelby automobile where used to transform the GT into Shelby's
they now transform new Shelby's into Shelby Road King and Supersnakes.
Took a tour of the show room and a visit of the plant.
They are in the industrial park near the race track on Hwy 15
Neat thing is that theres no cover charge. It's open week days from 8am to 4 and tour start at 10,30 until about noon.
the tour starts in the showroom where theres a couples of cars, and the guide goes thru the history of Caroll Shelby and each car that's into the showroom. The first Cobra CSX200 that Shelby made in 62. Pretty valuable too since he refused an offer for 20 millions for it.
A couples of 66, 67 and 69 then a GT40 and a few race cars, One built for Hertz rent a car ect.
An interesting one that was built by Selby team in 98 and used a lot of Corvette parts,

Project was killed after 280 some were built I wonder why??.
Pretty interesting stories then we moved to the plant
The first part is where the built "rollers" CSX 4000, 7000,and 8000 aluminium cars.

Theres a rope fence that restrict you to about 15 by 30 ft near the door and he explains what goes on, theres always a couples of cars in different phase of constructions. those are sold as rollers without the engines and tranny.
then we went to the Mod part of the garage.
thats where they transform the new Shelby's (who are now built completely by Ford now) into Shelby's KR and Supersnakes.
Same thing, you are restricted to about the same area into the garage where theres about 20 lifts with 2 mech each station who share the work on those.
Pretty interesting little tour considering the cost. Lots of history and neat shop.
Then 2 blocks from the plant they opened a café little burger place decorated with cars parts and stuff.
