Splicing Wire NASA-style

I use the Boeing standards quite a bit. But I kind of have them mostly on file too. Boeing has some cool charts and diagrams for just about anything you can think of with a wire.

I use jeff standards for wiring and not one car has caught on fire.

I just twist the wire ends together, mostly all stranded wire, they are showing solid core in the pix.....of course I solder all connections, and because shrink wrap is hard to find here, I just wrap with tape, and one small tie wrap to keep tape intact/position....

:amazed:

How is heat shrink tubing hard to find anywhere? Even Harbor Freight carries tons of it, as do Lowe's, Home Depot, auto parts stores, electrical suppliers, etc.

i had a friend who worked for western electric and he showed me that years ago. his car wiring was ART! all lettering lined up wires tied with thread it was tragic to cover it up.:shocking:
