If it was originally exported to japan when new then those might be all the miles it has. If however it was second hand when imported to Japan then the miles were resetted to 0 before registration. This is what they do to all old cars in there.

Seen lots of horrible cars come from Japan which obviously have 300.000km instead of 30.000km on the odometer. Vettes too.

But, I hope yours is not one of them. Gongrats!

Yeah, I noticed the granny gears too..dayum, they're even worse than the 2.73s I had in my 82. :clobbered:
 
Smiles per gallon instead of miles per gallon :D

Gas prices have come down a bit since last year, still nto cheap but "more tolerable"

Well, then I think you are in safe waters. Good job.

People import lots of "low mileage" cars from Japan to Finland and there has been lots of talk about this as its clear that many cars have greatly incorrect odometer readings.
