I removed the AC controls and the ashtray from the shifter plate and fiberglass'ed the holes, then cut holes for two stainless cupholders :D

I got the cupholders on the famous auction site... they're actually cups for a casino table, $12 shipped... cheap and stainless ..... :bump:

If you remove the ashtray, where will you flip your ashes?:bump:

Seriously, nice job. Are you going to paint them black or something else?

 I quit smoking about 1 1/2 years ago, gained 35lbs since then .... might have to reinstall the AC because now that I'm fat I'm sweating a lot....

I'm going to paint it charcoal with black and blue metal flakes to match the center instrument cluster:

I'll wetsand one more time and spray two more coats clear..... then install it in the car :yahoo:

Thanks guys, I priced Ebay replacements before I started this little project "just in case".... LOL

I'm not sure about the potential interference with tall beer bottles but a 16oz coffee cup should fit just fine........ these are very useful for the cellphone or Ipod, not only beverages ... and they're shiny :bump:

I sprayed one more coat clear and installed it. I't not done yet but I think so far it turned out nice... not much for the NCRS crowd but at least it's useable space for coffee, cellphone and Ipod.:)

Thanks, I finished it today:

These are AutoMeter angle rings, they look really cheap in flat black so I painted them silver to match the UltraLite gauges. With these rings it is a lot easier to read the gauges from the driver seat because now I'm looking straight at the gauge face.

That's looking really clean, nice paint job also.

BTW, this is a tech forum, no waxers, shiners, floor mats AND cupholders allowed :pprrtt::devil:

Now I have to make some cupholder insulator sleeves, these things are getting hot :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Mybad, your door panels looks kiiinda sick. Any threads on what you did to them?

Btw, if you see pics of my custom interior in a few months and you think to yourself that it looks a lot like yours, that's probably because I copied you.

You're copying my cupholders? :bounce: btw, I was serious about the insulators LOL ... these stainless cupholders get very hot in the sun

Haven't done anything with the door panels yet. Since I took these pics I installed red 2005 C6 seats. Not sure if red door panels are a little "too loud" .... :toothbrush::toothbrush:
