Just installed full rollers in my car last weekend. I had the Comp roller tip jobs on there before and the car was quite and ran well. Since I put the rollers on, the car runs fine, but I'm chasing tapping sounds. Not bad, but it almost sounds like a solid flat tappet engine. I can't believe that the rockers are that noisy. Am I wrong?

you have them too loose, they are just as quiet as the old ones if set correctly.

Well, Marck, that's the thing. I know how to adjust rockers. Not saying you're wrong, but I've done this before and I still have this damn sound I can't figure out.
Pulled the cap and made sure rotor was pointing to #1 and balancer was at TDC, tightened both rockers on #1 until there was no play +1/2 turn, locked down, rotated to #8, no play +1/2 turn, locked down, #3 so on, #4 so on, and on and on....
Maybe my tap is something else. Dunno.

Use the "heater hose in your ear" so you can pinpoint the noise.
Back in my dealer daze, I'd adjust them by the book, slap the covers on and ship it. My stuff, I set them initially by the book, then hot and running.

At least the hydraulics- Ol' Red will eat the end right off of a feeler gauge.
