Wasn't a big fan of the old LT5 (expensive, heavy, and a high c/g), but just curious why GM needs to trademark a name they've already used. Do trademarks expire?

My guess it is to"lock-in" the new SCRIPT
It is a very cool use of the eye.
Very Reminiscent of the Eagles Liner Notes/Cover for "On the Border." None of the "E's" had a vertical stroke. Hmmm infringement? Nahh, there is a half stroke the upper is implied. Who cares? Looks great.

That article talks about the C8. There isn't even a C7 yet, I don't think. Maybe I missed it?

Also it looks like a new logo (trademark) for Corvette not a new LT5 trademark.

Very confusing article.
