I have an old Dunlap offset ratcheting screwdriver that belonged to my Dad. The one I have is a flat but I think I remember he had a Phillips also. Seems like 2-3 times a year I have a need for that and a bent one will not fit. I end up removing the screw with a tiny channel lock. The company is out of business and I have been looking for the phillips version of this for a long time.
I have on of the ones you can change the bits on - so very useful and it floats around in the tool box.
This one is available with phillips heads (but won't have the nostalgia of yours): General Ratchet Offset Screwdriver 807X
Under 10 bucks.
Cheers - Jim
I have this one from Xcelite but its bigger than a bent offset driver. The old Dunlop is .60 front to back (both ends). The Xcelite is 1.35 front to back.
I did find one that is .82. That will probably work for most stuff.
