I would like to change the drum rear brakes on my 97 firebird witha 3.42 posi rear like my 97 camaro has. What specific changes were done for the abs and possible brake proportioning valve?

Parking brake cables would probably be different as well.

I am unsure of the gear ration of this 97 but how hard is it to change the speedo gears in it's T5 manual?

I am hoping to have this car running by the first of next month.

speedo gear is very easy to change if you have good access from underneath

do you want to swap in a disc rear end?

changing the ABS would be a pain.... I'd simply swap the rear differential and leave the fluid portion of the brake lines alone.

That said, I do not know whether or not the reluctor in the rear drum is compatible with the one on a disk brake rear differential - or how much you'd have to change to plug the sensor in place.... that said, I do know who to ask...
