Default Facebook Sells your Information?

Who is shocked that Facebook collects data on it's members (and their "friends" and their "friends" and ....) and sells it to any one that wants to buy it?

If your not paying for a product, you are the product.

Most people’s profiles are probably erroneous. They want all kinds of profile info, but don’t verify anything.

Don't share with strangers?

They don't rely on your profile. They collect data about everything you are interested in, where you go, what you do, who your friends are, what they do, where they go and so on.

Don’t cookies do the same, most web sites give/get those.

There was a movie where they design a “perfect” robot companion based on the guy’s browser history. LOL

Not at all. Cookies have no access to your contacts (and their info), your photos, where you go, messaging etc.

That’s good to know.

I only use their web based direct messaging as the “Messenger” app mines data out of your smartphone. Some now claim they document your phone calls (voice). But, installing the app is voluntary.

I’ve started “following” some select vendors, and getting their regular updates is probably worth it by itself.
