I have a good bit of slack in the lower brg on the steering column, if its not to much trouble I would like to change it while I'm in the middle of the rack install. Does it come out form the bottom? Does the column need to come out? Does anyone have a diagram of the lower section of a 77 TT column? I looked in the AIM and it doesn't have a diagram of the column.

Thanks for any help

remove the snap ring, then the metal collar, pull out the white plastic retainer and the bearing is right behind it.

No special tools are needed, the retainer clip can be pulled off by hadn, you do need to pull the column out a little so the coupler is off, that's all.

I was able to get the BRG form the local dealer, I understand were the play was coming form now. Someone had separated the BRG and the adapter and had the BRG in backwards. It was not snapped into the retainer, got it all sorted out and its a lot better. very little play in the shaft now.
