Thought I would have some made. 12.9 oz each. One third the weight. Don't ask why, just because.

Seems like something 69427 would be doing - not just "because" but the less than 13oz each! Nice pieces.

Cheers - Jim

It has been quite here on VetteMod, not that I post very much. So I thought I would show off a bit.

Slowly I also have cut the weight down on my car, but in a different vane. The car is set up to drive up and down the roads of California. And sit in traffic on the freeway. I am trying to keep the car looking in the spirit of what the factory might have done back then, if it had been in their budget.

The rods are hollow 6061 tubes swedged at the ends. The eyes are machined billet to match the factory dimensions except a bit thicker in the walls. Weld filler is 5000 series. Struts were then quenched and tempered to T6 after welding. Welds were dye penetrant tested. Then welds were dressed and the parts polished.

Thanks guys for the complements,

George
