Default C6 clutch master - popped off the firewall

I found only very few threads across the forums so apparently this does not happen very often. When pushing the clutch pedal the master pops off the firewall, I read that you insert it and turn it to lock it. Pretty difficult to access... how far is it supposed to be turned? Mine turns easy about 3/8", then stops...

Is it like a bayonet mount?

It's like a pos plastic prong crap... you push it in and turn it, that's it... I'm amazed it staid in place as long as it did.
I am so tired of this car sitting there almost driveable that I just placed my order for the Tick master... it's metal and threaded, uses a nut to hold it to the firewall.
I don't need the adjustabilty but it's a 'nice to have" ... another unexpected $350 for this money pit 🙄🙄🙄🙄
