Why did 91 sport seats have only 1 set of switches? VS 90 having 2

I noticed on 91 seats they have only 1 set of switches on the seats but a 1990 has 2 sets of switches. Was something eliminated on the 91 seats verses the 1990? I'm not a big fan of the inflatable bladders in the seats but really like the electric reclining feature and adjustable side bolsters.

I'm wondering if I could simply buy 1991 sport bottoms and use the single switch assembly to operate the recline and side bolsters and eliminate the bladders by laying in extra foam where the cut outs are for them.

Here is the 1990 bottom and back .... I can't remember if one of my 90 switches controlled both the functions I want to keep though.

Here is the 1991 foam, so tell me would this idea work? The contours of the bottoms look slightly different so gues I would have to order 1991 upholstery. How about a heating element inplace of the bladders, is this possible?

That only applies to sport seats. 90 has the knob for the adjustable side boltsters on the side, 91 up has them on the front of the seat bottom.

This 90 one also has an electrical seat back inclination adjustment, the 91 has a manual lever. I'm not sure if that option was available 91 +
