Dear Fellow Gearhead, Exactly one year ago today, we had the very special opportunity
to test 2 of our vehicles on the newly built, Texas State Highway 130. This brand new
strech of smooth asphalt connects San Antonio to Austin and its also the fastest road
in American with the only 85 mph posted speed limit. Being Texans, going big is not a
choice, its an attitude and way of life. This is just another example of why Texas is
an exceptional place to live and DRIVE.
Back in October of 2012 the state of Texas Department of Transportation was kind enough
to let us test our cars on their newly built road. In exchange we tested their TxTag
system to make sure that cars toll tags would register at speeds above the 85 mph limit.
As you may already know our Hennessey-tuned Cadillac CTS-V ran 220.5 mph while our
ZL1 Camaro ran 203.9 mph! This was a special day and we want to thank Texas Lt. Gov.
David Dewhurst, TxDOT Chairman Ted Houghton, Texas DPS and everyone at TxDOT and
Cintra US / Zachary construction for building one of the fastet roads in the world!
