need a answer (head lights)

The engine is removed, the head lights are in the open position,, I think there is a trick to close them with out vacuum... Who knows the answer???? I can't get the 77 next to the 76 and run a vac line over to it to activate the vac diaphragms , There must be a manual way??

Push on the actuator rod and push down on the headlight at the same time. It'll go overcenter and drop right down..

Thanks for the input,, I pushed until I was blue in the face. Funny thing, pulled them down using the vacuum off my 1977,,, Works real good.

There is an L shaped, 1/4 thick steel link that lifts the door. There is a rod that goes through the pivot of this link, there are counterbalance extension springs hooked to this rod. If you (from underneath) pull down at this pivot, the headlights should come down. Watch your fingers in there!
