Someone has finally discovered that our small block C3's are making way more power than the 200HP or so from the factory. So now anyone with a beefed up 350ci or big inch small block has an option in header size.

So I got a set of 1 7/8 inch primary into a 3 inch collector set today.

They are made from top quality 321 stainless steel and mandrel bent.
"321 stainless steel is most similar to 304 stainless steel, however it contains the addition of Titanium making it an excellent choice for prolonged high temperature applications. The addition of Titanium stabilizes this grade of stainless steel against the formation of Chromium Carbide in heat ranges between 800 to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit."

Got these today and I have to say they are without a doubt the nicest looking and best made headers I have ever laid my hands on, and I have seen many sets of headers.

I had one side on in 1/2 hour and they bolted up perfect to my existing exhaust which I didn't think would happen.

They are boxed up nice so as not to get damaged.

Couple of pics before I bolted them on. Notice how thick the flanges are.

They even ported the inside of the tubes at the flange, not something you see too often on other headers

And 1 hour later they are bolted into my Vette and connected to my existing exhaust with no dinging or swearing and they clear all the spark plugs with no problems

The brownish discoloration is hardly noticeable when you look at them, the camera picks it up more than the eye

stainless, 1 7/8 primaries :HOK-2290-2HKR

at $760 and change not cheap.... listed for Camaro/Firebird...

Chinese stuff is looking better, definitely cheap enough.

This outfit labels for anybody, guess they are going to broaden their market to C3's.

Talked to a guy at the turkey run and he more than doubles his money on the ss shorties. Hell, they retail for 135.00 including domestic shipping.

Unbelievable how cheap they can make these.

I had a feeling they were chinese and the reason is those weld beads look like typical beads done for looks. Now, they look good but the bead buildup and litle overlap between the drops is typical. They do this becaused welding like that prevents full penetration and the need for backing gas, if you do have full penetration without backing gas you'll get a rough texture on the inside and the weld will turn gray instead pf the nice and shiny look they now have.

As for the pipes being hay/brown, they will discolor all the way from heat if you run them.

Do the pipes neck down or is it a sort of starter cone that transitions from sort of square to round?

Yup, sure are, but surely not cheeep....

:lol::devil:

wanna bet.... :censored:

these are in the prototype stage and will be available soon. And every one of you will be able to afford them. :bounce:

200 bucks? :chinese:

Yeh, but pay attention to TT on that welding, what he says is same as my pro welder buddy sez about all that heat/bead/penetration type shit I dunno about too good....

:hissyfit: Course then again, why couldn't someone test fit the things, then get a good welder to go over it all again, make damn sure it's kosher....

:hunter:

Don't get me wrong, those are pretty damn nice headers and they won't rust. For that money there's no way you can DIY.
