Hi,
I recently installed a rebuilt 700R4 trans(http://vettemod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8983) and it seams to shift OK, but when checking the pressure it is a constant 200 psi even when revving,in gear or moving the TV cable. So I tried Google and found 20 pages on constant pressure after market valve bodies info, I have a stock VB.
Does any one know what the pressures should be with the stock 700R4 trans?

I had used the TV Made Ez - Spring in my stock VB.

Tim AT, is your man on that one, but I built a 700 in our motor home....

my readings are about 90 at idle in park, 150+ in reverse, and the back down to 100 in drive/any forward gear....when driving it seems to stay around 100-150 lbs, reverse is where I get the most jump for any throttle application....

I THINK the pressures are about 40+ lbs lo, but the thing don't slip, and the pump is a ten vane pump in good shape....

:nuts:

Dean-- check your PM's- I saw that before I saw this thread..

It seems to depend on what the original code on the trans is, but here is an idea-

P,N, OD, Manual 3rd @ 1000 RPM==
Minimum TV-- 70-80
Max TV 125-180

Reverse @1000 RPM Minimum TV 100-150, Max TV 170-270

Manual 2nd, Manual 1st, Minimum TV 170-230. Max TV 170-230

Rough numbers, again, depends on the original code on the trans data plate.
Hope this helps. I can give you exact numbers with the exact code.

Many thanks Tim, I will check my numbers against what you indicated.

Gene did say you would know this, thanks guys.
