I'm putting the new ignition in the car, and as per the instructions, the MSD will not work with a tach filter. So I can't find the dam tach filter location on the 1990, as I need to cut it out.

SO

2 questions:

1. is there a tach filter
2. WHERE IS IT?

Thanks.

NO tach filter...

wasn't on my '87, unless it's really well hidden...

I would have to consult my '87 shop manuals, but I don't think so..

:shocking:

Thanks Gene, I have the FSM and looking, can't find it. The 87 did have one, it was a capacitor mounted on the fire wall.

If I can't find it I'll just hook up the MSD to the tach wire. If it's irregular, I'll know the filter is in there.

I'd hate to do it twice, once is enough.
