gas gauge & amp meter?

Today both my gas gauge and amp meter stopped working in my 80 C3.I can order new ones but it seams funny they both went out at the same time?

I would check the mylar plastic printed circuit on the back of the gauges. The copper traces are pretty flimsy and often break but can be repaired easily enough.
