THE problem with buying outta town rims is.....

shipping, a 400 buck set of rims, is all of a sudden 500 or worse....

boxing/packing/weight, it's a mess....

:harhar::shocking:

Shipping in the US isn't bad at all. I've sold wheels (incl) tires and shipped FedEx for roughly $25 each (that was before gas was $4 a gallon).
The trick is to keep it as small as possible, I taped cardboard to both sides of the wheel and left the old tire on there for protection.

The FedEx shipping estimator on their website is pretty good and accurate. Try 27" X 27" X 12" and 40lbs.... $32 each

Their prices went up a lot when gas went up to $4 a gallon.... wonder why they don't charge less now that gas is down to $2 a gallon

shipping a set of rim to the Netherlands is probably around $500 :lol::sos:

Well, that's my point, for NEW rims, the local tire dealer, but for used...man you take 40-50 bux X 4 and all of a sudden a set of used rims goes to 600 bux.....hurts.....

but finding my '89 vette rims on craigslist for 120 bux...not too shabby...delivered to my driveway in back of the kid's pickup to boot....:devil:

true that some guys don't care for them....but I like the clean look....bury the damn lug nutz for a change.....:bounce:

So what's so bad about paying $100 shipping if you find a great deal across the country ?

If whatever the price for the rims is incl. shipping is a good deal then why not.... ??

Yes, about 450 for a set of 4 17"TTIIs BTW, USPS prices went up Jan 2nd or so again.

Hot Wheels

I'm sorry, but all these TTII's and the like make our cars look like Hot Wheels cars. I agree with most of the crowd here, more sidewall between the rim and the road. I just can't see negotiating a pothole with those low profile tires and surviving without dinging a rim.

The roads here aren't as crappy as over there.

Dunno, probably so, given the sands of Florida....not much to build a base with...

especially in the back roads into various neighborhoods....some of these are rough as a cob....but been 30 years too....:lol:

I just put in the Bilsteins on account of everyone saying the ride was so great....after some ten years here,....

swear it wasn't a month or two later they repaved MY street....

but NEVER that main drag in and outta here, no way, THAT POS will be there till hell freezes over...bastards....

:smash::bomb:

I like them

But what you really should be doing is jacking the rear end up and putting on some tires that are way too wide

Like this? HELL NO (this one has it all, shitty rims, balloon tires, stupid scoop & highjackers)

LOL..... these Dutch guys...... :lol:

That is called the german look, it has pretty strict rules

Highjackers are a must

Ugly wide azz rims with big tires are a must too, optional for the tires is that they are slightly too small for the rim width so you get that go cart wheel look

Cheap chrome is king

Stickers frim the summit fun bag will be plastered all over the engine bay

Pros will paint the MC yellow, the brake booster blue (or in a stars and stripes theme for extra kudos), a smidgen of red here andd there and maybe a purple thermostat housing to set it off

The interior shall receive persian type carpets and a host of other nicknacks to liven it up a bit

You're describing the treatment that every US car in Germany receives before it's exported to the Netherlands - many times a trailer hitch is added to boost the sales price even more

:bounce::bounce:

How embarrassing:eek:

Oh, that's nothing.... you should join a discussion between a Dutch and German about soccer, that's where the fun begins....

and yes, you can't sell a car to Holland without a trailer hitch..... ;)

All you need now is a dancing Hula girl on the dasboard, a Bobble head dog with brake light eyes on the rear deck and dingle berry fringe around the perimeter of the windows.... and don't forget the peel and stick body graphics!

Soccer is that game where the Dutch always play the most attractive and brilliant and in the end the Germans win with sheer luck. Their mannschaft always sucks.

About bad taste in "beautification" of US cars, no one beat the Germans. Here's some examples. Mind you, I got these right off the bat with a single search. if I can find these as quickly as this, imagine what lurks in the crevices of the German internetz :D

We can all clearly see the recurring theme, same shitty highjacker, chrome and odd colors schemes on suspension and braking parts you always see.

My Ti sports wagon got 225/45/17 with a 8" wide wheel. That's the factory size, I'm sure the M series is larger.

I like the look of those wheels,:thumbs:, chrome dont get you home...
