As some of you may know, I"m sanding away on the '72, getting more and more frustrated every damn day I spend on it....as I HATE body work and paint....

at any rate, the toleration level with a 25 y/o pain t job was gone...sunshine wins, daily grind took it out....

Hopefully going to the Daytona car show this week end....need buy some paint....

so the thoughts were at first to do flat black, but no one likes it but me, that I talk to anyway.....

so bright brilliant medium GREEN emerald green not some sickly earth tone crap no piss yellow or blue in it....freeking GREEN.....

or then I thought of Canyon Copper....'94? vette liked it a LOT when it came out....think it's back on a C6? C5?

interior is dark saddle, white convertible top....

black accents....little chrome trim....

Do flat black, if done nicely it's awesome, who cares what other people think.

Flat black does look great - on the right car, Panic's for example. On your convertible it just wouldn't look good... just my opinion but it would look like black primer and it would look like you ran out of cash to complete the paint job. I think it just doesn't fit your car.
With a tan interior I'd choose a dark green metallic green or dark red metallic/burgundy.

Go with 1994 Code 66 Copper Metallic. Unique to that year and only 166 were produced. Why not be different?

This is one of the most gorgeous colours I have ever seen.

I agree with MyBad79.

I can't argue with red metallic as that is what I have. Flat black is ... I don't know ... epoxy primer? Hardly a finished car.

didn't even see your comment about the copper..... have a look at sunset orange metallic (C6 color) and Mitsubishi Eclipse burnt orange (I think).... sorta dark copper, color shifting orange/brown/copper color.... would fit too, but again just my opinion: dark green metallic would be my first choice

Won't argue with that. Here is my 1967 (sold in late 2008) with Goodwood Green. Loved that colour.

Hi

My 68 presently dark red metallic convertible was originally British Green, this being a dark green metallic. I never really cared for green, but am thinking between that and Tuxedo black if I ever decide to repaint.

I saw a dark green shark with green interior.:hissyfit: Not my taste.:amazed:

Flat black is very special, not for a C3 unless it's a racer.

the only trouble with flat black is IT TAKES MORE MAINTENANCE THAN SHINY PAINT to keep looking good....
splash some water on it and its looks terrible when it dries.... i cant help thinking it would look like a blackboard.
if in doubt go to a rat rod show, and ask the rodders with flat black paint how much trouble it is to keep looking nice.
why not go a candy colour? i LOVE candy apple red, but some of the other colours also look very sweet.
buddy with a 34 chev hotrod has his painted candy tanegerine.. AWESOME colour, as when it catches the light the candy really pops....

this is a sweet paintjob in candy apple of a very sweet 34 ford...BUT candy apple is a bitch to paint, and touch ups are a problem.
the other pic is the tangerine 34 chev... my vette was parked out the front.
you can see the colour change from orange to a bright gold flake.... looks a million times better in real life.the owner of the chevhas far too many toys to play with... in his stable he has a mint 57 chev rolling on 20" rims, and a mint 68 camaro also rolling on a set of 20's.

I like that burnt orange/copper rod there, the car has been burgundy, from a old Ditzler job....dungaree blue heavy metallic oversprayed with candy apple crimson/red....turned out burgundy....WAS beautiful...but it is also the 4th burgundy car in a row, damn near...going back to the mid 80's....tired of burgundy, need a change....

tempted to go that copper color vein, wifey poo likes it or not....not sure with dark saddle interior .....then there is the green, but a old old old really old car of mine had that emerald brilliant green from the 60's yet....it was my 3rd-4th car, maybe that....sort of a flash back....

DARK green winds up looking like BRG, which is almost black/blue unless in bright sunlight, and even then....it's BORING....

I want something fun and flashy, but not TOOOOO much do'nt want to attract vandals...

:shocking::search:

Here is some nice and/or flashy colors you might find interesting:

How's the sanding coming?

Well, getting ready to paint some primer on it pretty soon....IF I can find the nerve/resolve/gumption....I maybe do something over the weekend...getting other detail crap done now....getting the late shark mirror body's, front grill, rear tail light frames, and gas cap powder coated in black metallic....

don't want to do the windshield trim, as it's all bonded in with RTV to do terminate any leaks forever....

still thinking over the wiper door, and maybe that grill panel between it and the hood....

IF this body work comes out to something worth painting in other than primer...WE seem to have decided on backside of moon GREEN
