I am wondering if anyone has done a relocation of the hood hinges to make the hood open in the oposite direction. instead of tilting forward, I want the hood to open tilting back to have the hinges near the firewall.
Any pictures or info would be really appreciated. I know it will be a bit of work to accomplish, but worth it, and help with my turbo plumbing for an air to air intercooler up front.

I didn't do this but I did make new hinges with the pivot 2" forward so that I could make an air bridge in fornt of the radiator support.

SUPER curious as to how you did your conversion there.....

I just replied to OP via email as someone said I did that reverse hinge....

Welcome to the motley crew, you will find guys here with FAR wilder and more knowledge than I have....

even though I chat a LOT, I read FAR more,:eek::hunter:

I've seen one like that but can't recall where I saw it. I kinda remember it being a 1972 red convertible that was heavily modified. May not have been a 72 either but was a 68-72.

It MAY have been my car, the paint suffered a LOT in the FLORIDA sun and after some years it got all checkered and there was nothing I could do....

so a couple years ago I tried to repaint it, and wish I left it alone....

it WAS burgundy with a beautiful shark on the hood....

I still feel sick over it....

No wasn't yours ... this convertible was heavily modified but I recall it was from Florida. But anways it had a hood that lifted in opposite direction like O/P is talking about.

Mocked up for now. The radiator support for the air bridge is next.

Wow, I havnt been back on the site in a while and totally forgot about my post. Glad to see it is getting conversation. The red convertible would be the ideal way to go. Can only imagine how much work and trials it will take for a success, but never the less exactly what I need to get my Turbo piping up over my Giant Radiator.

Anyone have more photos of different hood mounting options.

Here a few photos of my Hood I found, I have never seen one, cant find any info on who made it or when. I'm certainly not mad about the heat extractors on the side my turbo will be and the extra clearance I will need, it is pretty huge though.
Also threw in a photo of the setup, almost on the road
