For the 398 CID build I'm into, I'm consider using piston rings I haven't used before and am hoping someone has used them and will give me some feed-back on them.

They're: Speed-Pro R-19100s and Perfect Circle 315-0036

I'm going to write this last part, even though I know up-front that it won't be heeded, but I'm only looking for feed-back on those two rings. Not alternate/substitute recommendations like "You should use blah, blah, blah". PLEASE!

Thanks,

Jake

Only thing that I could find on the Speed Pro hellfire rings:
We use them in our alcohol funny car stuff but they car be hard on cylinder walls and are not great for "long life" engines

Oh..and they're expensive...but I bet you knew that already..:)

Thanks for that. I hadn't come across the accelerated wall wear issue being discussed.

Yep, I already knew about their higher cost, but that isn't a concern; accelerated wall wear is though.

Thanks again.

You're welcome Jake,
Found some more reading:

I use Akerly & Childs ring in my engines they cost much less than a hellfire or a total seal ring set would and Imo they are a better ring. With a supper charged app. you need to run a HTD top ring, it is a ductal iron ring to handle the heat and pressure produced form boost. A set such as this would run you around $160 complete. Scoggins is the warehouse for A&C these rings can be purchased through them.

Thanks much for all the information. Excellent reading and it filled in a LOT of the gaps.

Thanks in major part to your help I've narrowed it down to Perfect Circle's 315-0036.045s and their 315-0072.045s. The difference between the two sets is the top ring. The 2nd and oil rings are the same on both sets; it's the top ring that's different.

Now all I need to do is decide between which top ring to go with. I'm leaning toward the 0072s but I'll do a little more reading before I finalize my choice.

Many thanks!!!
