My engine has been sitting around for a while. Should I flush the water cooling channels?

If so does someone have a procedure or is it just sticking a garden hose in it? Any need for additives?

depends.... if it has been sitting in a dry garage then I would just flush with water to get dirt flushed out... do you have mice that could have crawled in there ??

If you're concerned about rust (assuming iron block) then fill it with anti freeze and let it sit for some time, then drain it.... that should take care of it...

:p I must be krazy, I imagine the upper hose left off, 5000 rpm and that mouse comes outta there like a cartoon character, :yahoo::goodnight:
