Why all of a sudden can I not get to my favorites in IE but I can see them and actually use them from explorer?

When I cursor over the folders it says that the folders are empty but when I click on the folder the links are there

Figured it out, something changed all my favorites links, all my pictures and video files to hidden or read only files. changed them all back and all is good.
