Hi All
In the spring I am considering 17" torque thrust wheels and some type of tire. My car has stock suspension and I would like to see any pics of those guys who have gone to 17" wheels. What tires are you running?
Thanks!

I have 17x9.5 89-92 vette wheels on my car, just removed the '92 rims in favor of the earlier version, same size....

with the VBP adapters at 2.5" thick, they run 275/50/17 in rear and 255/50 in front....

for the rears to fit in there on same wheel/tire centerline, the ebrake bracket needed moved to behind the rotor in my case....or on top....

but on my car they fit fine for some 15 years now....

I like 17's because the rubber is cheep enough now....500 dollar tires don't get it for me....

:surrender::eek:

17x9 full chrome Rallys, 275/40 on the front and 285/40 rear. Clears all the stock suspension and park brake cable locations and no signs of rubbing anywhere.

Just got them on two weeks ago. At the recomendation of someone on here, I can't remember who, 255/50 front and 275/50 rear Nitto 450. I like em!

YES, I remember your TAG, Faryland, INCORRECT....gotta love it....

I from that area lived there 53 years, and so a olde tyme buddy of mine, a Federal Cop still with DHS, he had a tag from Faryland....years ago....in response to the 55 limit....

55 SUX......actually issued......he got that tag still today.....

It may have been me as those are the sizes I have on my '72 shark with later shark fender flares, ....previous owner from up there in Suitland put them on....

see site at bottom of sig file for pix....

sweet ride there....love custom vettes, much better FAR superior to any mear stock duplication of St. Louis' goofs....:waxer:

I'm running 17x8's with 235/50 Michelin Pilot Sports on all four corners.

What are the offest of your rear wheels and have you modified the frame and trailing arms to get the 17 X 11 with the 315/35's

I am now running 335-17 rear on 11” rims and 285-17 front on 9.5” rims 3.75 BS on both. BUT I do have offset T-Arms and fender flairs.
