Owner sale, clean, leather, auto, DOHC engine, nice paint/exterior....

car drives as new, has ~1/4" of tread on all tires.....

needs a simple exhaust pipe repair....


anyone know of any service history on the car in general.....

I agree with TT, start a thread "mrvette looking for a cheap ride" thread.
I have a 2002 Kia Rio, and the thing is very well built, tried hard to kill the engine with no luck.
 
Marck, guys, I hear you, but I have to find a decent ride for my wife, and soon too....the net searches for information are just about useless anymore, fucking search engines from Ask/Google/Yahoo just yield spam.....click on a link and get a FOOD/cooking site....really???

so I get frustrated for information and have tried all the sites I know of, with poor to piss poor information....

Stick to local craigslist and ebay, the rest is just garbage.
Just start ONE SINGLE THREAD, people willing to help you will surely check it.

Went back to CL, and found a near I freeking DENTICAL '99 Escort that needs mechanical work.....IF the guy gets back to me, I maybe can make a deal on it, same color and all, Linda can name it BetseyII......:bounce:

long ago, I had a swb 4x4 chevrolet pickup with a 454 in it, and a $1500 bench seat (which I wish I still had). I got it from a dealer friend who couldn't sell it - I got it as part of a larger trade.... I tried to sell it complete for a month without result because anyone who drove it (probably more appropriate term - herded it) would never come back. The truck was solid, all one color... etc.
Finally, my dad talked me out of the motor (paid what I wanted for the truck), a friend bought the seat, then I pulled the rest out and put a for sale sign on it....get this.... for the same price as I was asking complete. It sold in 24 hours. I even told the guy it drove like crap - he didn't care.

If you can't drive it, it looks awesome but you have no idea how much extra you'll be putting in the car. If the guy blew the motor up - one must ask how he treated the car - what about the transmission?... and, get this, people lie to sell cars - even in Florida.

You know, I been driving over 1/2 a century now, and have NEVER been hit in the rear, had a couple front end collisions, and even had a freeking COW run out a pasture gate and so wiped out the entire left side of my '67 Pontiac Grand Prix....I should have shot it dead and had a BBQ over it at least.....

NOW Linda here bought this '99 Escort as she worked in the office of a Ford dealer at that time, it was her first and only new car on her dime, getting a divorce and all.....

so she was somewhat emotionally attached to it.....she is a granny at age 61 here.....she has been setting traffic stoped behind the car ahead of her, and been hit....get THIS shit, FOUR TIMES once by some texting stupid teenage broad in love with her cphone.....in the Miata.....

and then in her Escort the THIRD time wipes out the car, and sends her to the hospital for 6 hours, and she still hurting, every time NOT her fault, the rear lights worked.....and even IF they didn't, it was BROAD DAYLIGHT EVERY TIME!!!! WTF, everyone SO in love with their fucking TEXTING they can't watch the road???

she as a Personal Injury lawyer as a book keeping client, and one of the guy in the office commented a word from the claims adjuster at the offending company.....that he was 'scared' of me, fucking A right, bastard, lucky I don't find a addy for your cheep ducking out asses, and we settle this shit MY way....YOU start writing, and I stop shooting, how about THAT , assholes.....

I've been hit quiet a few times and never had an issue with the insurance compensating me for the damage (never had injuries ... knock on wood). When i got rear ended (my Mustang) the insurance adjuster came to my house to assess damage and vehicle value, took 15 minutes and he left me a check.
They all try to low ball but when you mention that so far you haven't involved legal support (yet) they usually try to make you happy so that you accept their offer, sign and "go away"
 
The "distressed" owner thing is good. I know a guy that bought a 3 year old Mercedes AMG for a song.

A couple daze ago I ran up the local auto drag here, full of stealers and stealerships, and so went into many a lot, having done a bit of general research on prices for this area, walk into a machine gun nest armed with a .22 anyway.......and so heard this tale from 3 different shops.....

that is was the WORST time of year for cheep rides shopping....why?

the damn TAX prep shops that help cash paychecks, will do tax prep work and based on income tax refunds, will front money on that shit, and the folks need/want cheep cars will go out to a lot and buy anything in site.....

it makes a slight bit of sense, but to hear 3 different men tell me the same story?? I find it rather improbable that it's a outright lie.....

but finding a reasonable car that is not BRIGHT ORANGE, which I tried mightely to sell her and NOT a station wagon......I said she had more mass in the ass with a wagon, and being bright ORANGE maybe she would be SEEN???

something about the previous color of her car as being SO conservative it's just not noticed or why the collision rate???

so anyway, to buy something sensible and keep her safe, and have 30+ mpg.....tough order.....

all you all Florida guys have to know, that if something happens to you, you are screwed, the guy in the back is probably an illegal and/or has nothing to sue over....

you know, even I (I) would consider a bright orange station wagon as a daily driver..... you know.... you can fit crap in the back (like lumber, mulch and other crap from Home Depot), get good gas mileage .... and with some black 17's it would be ok..... and it's a Ford and not some import .....
as I said, as a daily beater even I would take it.... then again, I have two Corvettes to fall back on for those days I want something more exciting :D

btw, just today at 6:30 some girl cut me off turning and hit the front left of my Mustang.... all this talk about accidents and insurance crap must have jinxed it..... she has insurance, they're going to call me tomorrow to setup appointment for the adjuster.....
