Watch out for this bad boy. 2014 Camaro Z-28, 505hp 427, dry sump oil system, 6 speed Tremec and 3:91 gears in the rear standard equipped. Also, no a/c and a radio with one speaker standard. Optional a/c and stereo extra and priced north of a Camaro ZL1 (probably just under $60,000 and only 1500 production run ) but it is a track car out of the box with carbon fiber brakes and a programmable suspension. The video is the car in track mode (exhaust baffles open in this mode) doing a lap at Nurburgring. It starts raining just before the final backstretch. Make sure your volume is up.

Pricing will be announced early next year, but Super Chevy magazine is reporting a sticker over $100K and a dealer I am working with is saying "North of $80K" with a big dealer pack on top of that. They added the big carbon Brembo brakes (a $10K addition). Neither the car nor the price are for the faint of heart!

Follow the link ... They say the lap time at the Nuerburgring was faster than the CarreraS and a Lambo ... Now that is impressive - the Camaro is not known to be a great handling car .....

The GM engineer assigned to develop the suspension on this car was Mark Stielow -- he won the Optima Challenge last year in his 67 Camaro with an LS7-based, Supercharged, 850 (or so) hp motor and ABS brakes. As he put it, he was asked to make the new Z28 "fast, not cheap". Look at the suspension mods and the size of the front tires and the brakes. These mods are well thought out, deliberate, and designed for go, not show. This is a serious track car that bears little resemblence to a generic Camaro. The only thing that concerns me is the weight -- still close to 4000#, but 300# lighter than the ZL1. I have a 2011 Z06 with the Z07 brakes and carbon fiber package -- a little over 3000# -- but I am still intrigued by the performance of the Z28. I think I want one!

I would love to see the lap time of the same driver in a bone stock 2013 Z28 ...

Then again, a bone stock 2013 is about $60K less than this bad boy ...

I drove a few laps on the Nordschleife back in the early 90's .... Think my lap time was like 13 minutes or so ... Don't remember ... Lol...

I thought the ls7 was getting dropped. Looks like there might be more ls7 vetted???
