I needed to call Verizon for a refund on my old service address, I moved. I was on hold for 25 minutes, then was finally connected to an operator who informed me that she was not in the right dept. to help me. Was on hold for another 15 minutes before the correct person picked up the line. Then we had to do everything 2X because he must have been dyslexic, yes was no, old address was new and so on. I never raised my voice or was abusive but man am I pissed. I finally got them to agree to the refund after 53 minutes of grief. :banghead:Now I want to see if the check actually arrives in the mail....

If I told of my experiences with ATT and Uverse net and TV.....you wooden believe this year long saga anyway.....

we had some 400 minits on our cphones with ATT, burnt them all up plus the extra 40 bux, wife bitched and they reduced it to 20 bux.....

over a one month time period last fall.....and through the winter.....

that is one messed up company....

:ill::o:gurney:

check will go to the old address and get returned to them

'Ya think? Damn conspirators are out to get us all!:bomb:

They also informed me that the over payment has to be more than 60 days old before they can issue a refund. I guess they make a little interest $$ on my money. It has already been over 90 days.

Update

Well, I got the check today, but the moron sent it to my old address. It has one of those big yellow address correction stickers from the post office on it.
Way to go Verizon!

Is this cell or residential service? I've always had pretty good service on the cell side. But there are several cell stores withing just a couple miles of the house. When I have an issue I generally go down in person and it gets squared away in minutes.

This was a residential account. I agree that the local cell phone stores are good at problem solving.
The increasing level of incompetency in America simply amazes me, or do I expect too much?

DV8, the dumbing down of the edumakashunal system in this country yields total incompetence at every level......

in all honesty, at age 68, I have led a charmed life, back when my compatriots actually knew something, today.....fuck it, carry a gun....

country has gone shit stupid.....saw it coming with all the civil rights bullshit back 50+ years ago.....today it's 'no child left behind' so NO kid is allowed to advance is the consequence of that bullshit....

everyone gets a award for showing up, NOT for actually doing anything....

pardon my grouchy old ASS, but I know I"m right....:smash::smash::thankyou:

Gene, I agree with you on this one my friend. Who in the hell ever got rewarded for failure? If you didn't show up or didn't produce you didn't get paid or you got fired. Nowadays, failure still requires payment in full, never mind that you didn't get what you bargained for. It's the new American standard. I guess we all have to get used to it.

Verizon sucks. I don't know that the others are much better.

10 years ago, they built a cell tower next to my office. My Verizon cell phone quit working. I had like a two year contract. So Verizon actually told me that they wouldn't let me out of my contract because "they don't guarantee that the service (their product) will work".

SUCK WHAT?? I"d telll them illegitimate douche wads where to stick SO fast....

:crutches::stirpot::trumpet:

I once parked our mini-van near a radio tower. I did not have a door key with me, I used the keyless entry remote. When I went out later to get in my car the keyless entry would not work - the signal was being squashed by the signal from the radio tower.

Years ago I had Sprint cell phone service. I gave a phone to my teenage daughter so I could keep in touch with her and visa-versa. I grounded her several times for not answering her cell phone when I tried to call her - I thought that she was being cute and avoiding me. Then one day I am trying to call her when I see her walking down the street toward me. I yelled at her - "Why don't you answer your phone"? she responded by showing me that her phone was not ringing - she was not receiving the calls. When I called Sprint out on it they tried to upgrade me to a new phone - but still would not guarantee their service. I told them that they were not going to get paid for that kind of service (Translation = FAILURE). Their response? Instead of correcting the problem they put me in to collections. Now my credit is smeared because of their piss poor business practices.

All cell providers don't gaurantee that their service will work. It's in the fine print on the contract.

However, I'm sure Gene could set them straight by telling them where to stick it :hissyfit:

I have a unfair advantage, two friends who met running a cphone store here in Orange Park, they met, married had a kid, now divorced, split the two houses and so it was cool, one quit the store they met, and went to the other side, one is still ATT, the other is Verizon.....they both are still store managers for their respective companies.....:lol::sos::harhar:

How many businesses do you know of that demand and require your social security number so that you can do business with them? :stirpot:

Any one where they need or want to do a credit check. Also, certain financial transactions are now required to be reported, including the SSN of the person(s) involved.
