I parted one out a couple years ago, here's what I got for the stuff +/- a few $'s do to bad memory;

long block $125
intake $80
Tb's $70
700R $200
ECM $35
wire harness $75
exhaust manifolds $35

The air setup and especially the switching valves and metal lines that run across the front of the block are hard to find and worth some moolah

XANDER.....return from the dead, where you BEEN man??

only 125 bux on that long block?? jeebus, that's scrap value today....

I would THINK one should bring 400 as a core anyway....

Core around here for a sbc is $75, I agree it's not much better than scrap price.

L83 engine has a stock cast bottom end, x rods, 2 bolt block but it does have L82 TRW 464664 forged pistons. They do hav e the oil return slots that sometimes cause the whole skirt to break off ut still. Jonas Bylund is pushing some 1000HP through his bone stock L83 bottom end.

On ebay about three years ago, someone had an original 82 throttle body system for sale. It was unused still in the GM parts box. I believe it sold for about $10,000. I believe the sale also included the correct part number new unused intake manifold. Of course this was in the crazy days of inflated Corvette parts.

I think what I'm saying here is that a throttle body set up in very good un-molested condition would bring a good price, but certainly not anywhere near $10,000.
................
During those days there was reports of a new unused still in the GM box air cleaner wing nut selling for $50 on ebay. I bought a new wingnut from Volunteer Vettes for $3. I passed along the $50 story. They said that was stupid. They said their $3 wingnuts were made from the original tooling that made the original GM wingnuts and as far as they knew were exact duplicates.

Stupid money. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of stupid in the world at this time. However, there is a shortage of money.
