Alright gang, questions of the day. Sorry for so many, trying to get ready for the zillion mile Hot Rod Power Tour again this year.
1982, with electric fuel pump, converted to carb, using a Mallory regulator. Not sure age on fuel pump.
New engine runs great, new carb, regulator is 4 years old. Last night, when engine warmed up and ran for maybe 15 miles, idle droped about 300 rpm and checked fuel regulator, showing no pressure, readjusted to 5 psi. This seems to only happens after it gets warm. Crusing and WOT runs fine.
Question:
What happens when the electric fuel pump fails or gets close to fail?
I have a complete mechaincal fuel pump that I can put on, or would you stick with the electric?
If I go with the mechanical pump, can I just disconnect pump power, and use existing fuel line, or do I need a bottom port off of fuel tank. It appears when making any fuel line changes that fuel is always present via siphon effect I guess.
Thanks,
tt
