A new engine.....

A more efficient internal combustion engine

This thing is fascinating to watch in action. I enjoyed the post.

It's also known as a wabble-plate engine. If you go the the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio, you can see a large wabble-plate engine built by the Germans in WWII to experiment with a possible new air craft engine technology. I worked on a torpedo ...It was the Mark 46 torpedo ..it had a wabble-plate engine..my job was to trouble shoot preproduction guidance electronics problems. I digress. It was powered by a solid state rocket body..the hot gas from the rocket motor drove the wabble plate engine ...to this day I don't know how fast this torpedo was ...I think it was about 60 mph. Also, all the Fridigdaire A-6 air conditioner compressors on 60's to mid 70's cars utilized wabble plate compressors

Nothing really new about wabble-plate engines or their mechanics, but it's good to see a good design live on.

After the A6 they went to an R4, that larger dia. flat thing, POS...got better through the years, but started out rugged, then in the '88 vette they got the Jap version of the A6 a little aluminum thing at about 10% of the weight....I have one in my '72 with the stock a/c parts here in Florida, not so awful evil....just wish I could use R12 instead of 134.....
