Another moron texting at the wheel

Last December 15th, my wife driving her '99 Escort, the ONLY new car she bought in her life......and so got slammed at 45+ mph while stopped in traffic, the offender was driving a LTD, old cop car....

INsurance in Florida is not worth a good GOD DAMN, it's a no fault state....

meaning no one responsible or nothing....the guy walks for ~340 bux worth of tickets.....

her car totalled, she in the ER for 18 GRAND OUR insurance pays ten grand, hospital stuck for the rest....HIS insurance short changes us about 700 bux to replace the car with like kind/quality....her car looked and drove brand new as I have maintained it over the years.....the guy's insurance company more worried over the crap to do with the newer minivan she was pushed into.....

6.5 hours in the ER, 18 grand??? not even a broken bone?? but plenty of bruises for a little gal at age 61 and only 130 lbs and 5'6".....

but you know, it's the crooked state of Florida....nothing to be done about it, tried two law firms, ONE of which was a client of Linda's......so WE screwed over it.....

I just KNOW the guy was texting.....no other way to be that UNobservant.....

Surprisingly enough, the California legislature controlled by an over 66% of Democrats, passed a law leaving relatively high fines for cell texting and hand held cell phone usage. Governor Brown (aka Moonbeam) vetoed the law since the fine was excessive for poor people.
 
pardon me for not being PC here... but have you ever noticed how the poverty ridden lower class always has the latest greatest cell phone stuck to their heads while they wait for the bus or shop at wally world? Where do they get the money?

For the same damn reason the Latino owner of the vehicle has min coverage here in Florida, which as been law for decades now, I understand......

wife is a native of this state, American Indian background in the family even yet....and SHE did not know all this legal crap that's been around for some decades now.....

much less 18K for 6.5 hours in the ER.....CAT and MIR scans....

that is not include the doctor's bills.....

what is RONG with this????
