Anyone use Cragar SS 's or 245/60r15's up front?

I was just looking at my Cragar S/S supersport wheels and they are in need of re chroming

I am not sure if what I have is actually works with my car. I have 255/60r15 BF Goodrich tires in the back and 245/60r15 tires up front.
When My car was in one piece, I wasn't able to do u-turns very well. I could turn better in one direction than the other so I was sure that it would go away when I adjusted the steering at the gearbox. I never got that fixed before I started a full body off rebuild so I am not sure if the steering was the only problem of if it had to do with the over sized tires.

Do any of you have the 245/60's up front with Cragar's??? I would like to know if any of you with wide tires could share your set ups including spacer width if any.

...Trying to decide if I should re chrome these or get a size that works better.

Cragar super sports, are those the steel chromed wheels? We call them bagger wheels here, where bagger in dutch means sludge or mud. If you want some nice wheels, get some daisy mags (200s), those are awesome wheels.

255/60/15s is not a really big tire, but it has quite a sidewall. Might want to get something with a lower aspect ratio. I had 255/50/15s but they don't even make that size anymore (at least, I can't find them)

First off, welcome to the motley crew of the Flying Dutchmen.....

second off....your tires are a slight bit much, in the front I never got but a very scant clearance with 225/60/15 in front which what was on there when I bought the car with stock '72 steel wheels....the rears were like 235 as I recall....barely clearing...

but from the git go this car was going to be a hotrod, so all bets were off and 17x9.5 '92 vette rims went on, along with various mods to the t-arms and front end....more limited steering radius, but still tighter than a C4....

I think that for stock rims you going to be hard pushed to go over the above sizes....

I didn't have the ss's on my 70 but I had 15x7 w/ 235/60/15's up front and
15x9 w/ 245/60/15's in the back and didn't have any problems that I can recall.

I have the Cragar S/S 15 X 8 with 255/60-15 Firestone Indy 500's on all 4 corners on my '76. Had to use a 1/2" spacer to clear the calipers, which necessitated the longer shank lug nuts. No issues u-turning for me, but I don't recall what the smallest turn radius was.
