Been a LONG time, but I seen very similar drag racing wrecks....
one was totally UNbelieveable as to how in HELL he went over his competitor's car, and crashed without getting killed....
cleared the guys car, and yet UNDER the power lines....upside down, and walked, everyone though he was DEAD....

Sounds like the guy stayed on the throttle. Not a good outcome!
