I have a neighbor here with a '91? Saturn....and so finally caught the reason his batter was intermittently dead when he parked at work,or overnight....

finally caught it....the 30 amp blade fuse to the 'computer' was draining about 400 mils of current .4 amp.....kill a battery in a few hours....

I jig wired the car with a healthy switch inside ....flip that switch when you leave the car...that simple...

no way in hell to be tearing a beater apart to find some stupid problem like that....I lucky to find THAT drain in the thing....

at least I knew where to put the switch, which circuit to killl....finalllly....

:amazed:

I'm using this one from NAPA: http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Detail.aspx?R=NW_785118_0282529018

Works good for me. I like the fused jumper it comes with to keep my stereo memory hot for when I'm using the disconnect as an anti-theft switch. You can take the knob with you when you leave the car unattended. When I need total disconnect, I can just pull the fuse as well as the knob.

DC

Me too. Started doing this when I was traveling for extended periods for work. Works great.
