Who has the best direct replacement aluminum radiator, plus electric fans for a street 69 BB. A friend has just completed his 69 with a mild build BB. Having overheating issues. Thanks

IMO, hit ebay and look for the radiator, make sure the thing is aluminum, and has same core size, inspect that core support as most of them are rusted out POS by now...another 250 bux shot n the ass.....I would get a rad that has two rows of pipes, each 1.25 or so thick and about 1/5 inch tall, roughly...it's about double what I have.....

maybe same source you can get a set of Dual Spal fans with relay controls and temp sensors

now depending on your fab ability there is Tom DeWitt also do a search, he pops up.....he makes a direct fit line of radiators that are a bolt in....

but you going to spend another ~2-300 bux for the plug in no modifications necessary....

I would mount the spals to that the new shroud covers the entire backside of the radiator entirely, making them suck through the entire core evenly....

the Spals have them little rubber flappers on there which aide cooling at highway speeds,.......other setups don't seem to have that.....

I have a '72 small block, with a 350 and a late F body GM aluminum rad with single row as above, and plastic tanks.....that set of spals pull down SO much better than any other fans I have ever had anywhere.....they are sealed the same way I recommended above...

:bump:

Thanks, I have offered to help him with it, this will be a great help, he is like some of the rest of us, ex c2-c3 racers now driving street vettes. I think the number of us are growing......

The toys we wanted as boys we now afford as 'men'.....

what the other 1/2 sez anyway......:stirpot:
