C3 Fire Extinguisher

Decidedly low-tech mount, but handy. Just an offset bent bracket hose clamped onto it and stuck in the t-top strap clip bracket. Plus there's another larger one in the back tray behind the tool bag.
I don't know about other types, but remember: these dry chemical ones have only a few seconds worth in them.

I dont have a pic of mine, but i have 1 in my car. Its bigger than the ones you guys are posting and i really need to find a mount for it.

I mounted mine on the passenger wheel well. I made a mounting bracket using a piece of 1/8" aluminum (2" wide and longer than the fire extinguisher). I put one bend in it to contour to the wheel well, then drilled a hole in it so that the seat belt bolt would secure it. I then mounted my fire extinguisher to the aluminum bracket. You'll have to offset the hole you drill for the seat belt bolt to center the bracket on the wheel well. You'll see what I mean when you test fit the bracket.

Thanks for the suggestion,i will have to look into that

CAUTION: Halon is a gas that displaces oxygen. Have you read the manf. instructions carefully? Discharged (accidentally, of course) in an enclosed environment (top up, closed windows) you will have more problems (i.e. trying to breathe) than worrying a fire. A shaken two liter bottle of soda pop is more effective than that small fire extinguisher. Your choice of location in the drivers or passenger footwell is not a good location, either. Not trying to rain on your parade :rain:, just pointing out the dangers. Hope you never have to use it.

I am noticing your center console side panels are not carpeted, they look like molded plastic, is that custom or stock?

That was stock 1968-76.

A distinction should be made between Halon and Halotron. Mine is the latter.

Halotron l is a "Clean Agent" HydroChloroFluoroCarbon discharged as a rapidly evaporating liquid which leaves no residue. It effectively extinguishes Class A, and B fires by cooling and smothering and it will not conduct electricity back to the operator. Halotron is pressurized with Argon gas and is an EPA and FAA approved HCFC blend B agent approved for use on Class A, B and C fires. It has a Low GWP of 0.04 - 0.24, low ODP of 0.014 (twelve times lower than the EPA maximum allowable ODP of 0.20) and a low Atmospheric Lifetime (3.5 to 11 years). Halotron is intended for use in areas formerly protected by Halon 1211 hand portable extinguishers such as computer rooms, telecommunications facilities, clean rooms, data storage areas, offices (for protection of sensitive electronic equipment), boats and vehicles.

Maybe stock for a Canadian export car, but not stock as it left St. Louis for USA markets...I have never seen that before....just carpeting...one piece molded....

I stand by what I said. Here is a replacement console from a major US supplier.

Good, glad to see you read and understand the instructions.:drink: But remember that's a very small cockpit.

YES, I agree with you there, I have the same console in black, but in the first two shots, it looks like you have a floor tray in there with black carpeting and a plastic red surround....

I think that's what the diff is....in your pix here now....it's gone....

your car looks like same style mine was....

and will again, IF I EVER get it back together again....

OK, I see where my confusion lies. I use rigid plastic Fox Weatherboots instead of floor mats. Much easier to clean: just hit with a garden hose and let dry. They do indeed have some black carpeting.

They come in basic black. I used Krylon Fusion Plastic Paint in burgundy to get them close to the oxblood interior.
