C3 ground wires

I'm not aware of a list of ground points. About the best reference I've seen is Dr Rebuild's color chart of the wiring diagram of C3's..and his chart's also include photos of the connectors. This his is a very effective trouble shooting chart to have. I have one for my 68 and 70. I assume he has one for the 79. He must have put a lot of trouble and effort into making these things. So...if he has one made for the 79, the ground wires and terminals will be illustrated.

An unsophisticated approach to the grounding problem, is to just start adding ground wires all over the place. However electrically this can cause problems. In AC circuits you can get "ground loops" which can cause develish problems. In all DC circuits, the problem of ground loops is generally deminished. However, it's best to have a common ground point on the car. On a Corvette, the common ground point is the frame. If you want to add "ad hoc" ground wires, ...not a bad idea..., make sure your added ground wires have a low impedance path to the frame. For example, ground the speedo and tach cans to the birdcage, but make sure the birdcage is really grounded to the frame. (You undoubtedly know a lot of this...didn't want to be condescending, but maybe some of our readers needed to know this info.)
