C3 In A TVR Tuscan

Looks like stuff for the tvr, only the diff is a corvette eaton (and not anything quick change)

TT, I was wondering about the quick change also. You can see in one of the pics, he used the factory diff cover to mount the lower arms. I also see he 4 point mounted the bearing carrier and has mounts to put the coilover to the front or rear. All in all it looks pretty heavy, heavier than Pierre's design. However, pretty nice. I think also anyone choosing to go IRS is only limited to their imagination. Take a carrier and re-engineer everything around it.

Also I was not aware of all the rear covers available, including a fake quick change cover.

BB here it is. "The TVR-2500 came stock with a Triumph TR6 rear suspension and brake system."

The pissant six bolt mounting for the bearing canister looks very TR-6 to me but the alloy casting seems much larger than I remember. Likely a specific TVR casting as it is so easy in England.

Interesting post though. I'm always watching for more robust bits that could improve my racer...

I'm still confused. The picture I showed above is from a TR6. This casting includes the bearing carrier. The part shown in the Zappa racing link looks like a different part yet the TVR was supposed to use TR6 stuff.

Is the picture from the Zappa site some other type of carrier?

BB, I'm as confused as you. You said you thought the TVR came with TR6 suspension. So I looked more and found this link that states under the pic, "The TVR-2500 came stock with a Triumph TR6 rear suspension and brake system." Not a Tuscan, however a TVR.
Maybe they are different generations?

I thought the suspension was home made, but I see this titled, "TVR 2500M rear subframe for Triumph TR6."

As I stated above, the carrier has the characteristic retaining bolts for the TR6 bearing canister. That would include the brakes and halfshafts and probably the diff. To the writer that could well be defined as the "TR6 suspension". Not to us but...

The British cottage car industry was quirky and having a custom casting made was as easy as a pair of seat covers. Small specialty shops dotted the landscape around Coventry and supplied all of the small bits to all of the Brit car manufacturers. They were an incestuous lot. And they changed configurations constantly.

The hubs are patterned to a TR6 bearing assembly but the TR6 uses a semi trailing arm suspension, the double a arm deal is a TVR only thing and they must have developed the aluminum hubs themselves so it's a TVR part
