hope you and yours all safe and breathing well.....

The Kali folks ain't the only ones. We're getting suffocated by these turds since the enviro-nuts won't let the sane people keep their stuff cleaned up.

That thing has burned 120,000 acres from Glendale to Acton. About 20 miles. Stuff that has not burned in 80 years. We almost lost all the TV/Radio towers in LA. today. Mt Wilson. Got up to the station houses. Smoke plumes get 20,000 ft high, and the air quality is horrible. Luckily, I'm 20 miles away to the south. This "Station Fire" they call it is a 100 year event, and quite horrific.

Bird don't agree man, but I think there is something to it, because years ago I never heard of these fires to this extent, I have visited Ca maybe 3x over the years and never heard much about fires from the locals or even on the TV news, events like that would be reported, even in the daze of Edward R. Murrow.....so something has definitely changed.....the last ~ten years have been rather newsworthy.....

but then again every once in a while there is a 'miracle' house that survives, methinks they doing something right....

Most of the fires here are started by humans. Mostly on "purpose".:quote:

Once in a blue moon I hear of them actually catching someone for doing just that....but outta so MANY fires, I fail to see a natural occurance....so the other spot to go is TERRORISM??? only takes ONE mosque....

:clobbered::rolleyes:

I'm just saying it looks and smells like Vegas is on fire out here. I woke up Sunday night/Monday morning to let the dogs out and thought the house was on fire. I actually went and looked around the neighborhood to make sure none of my neighbor's houses were on fire. It was just the smoke from the Angeles fire though, but it was so thick and stinky I thought it was local.
The problem I was trying to get across is the asinine environmental laws that don't let the forest service go clear fuel so that when these things do catch fire, it turns out to be 10x worse than it has to be.

Okay. I getcha now. I just don't think we have the money in Kalifornia to mow 120,000 acres a year, but I'll check on it.:wink:

Bird, that is obvious, but something is not right, obviously, especially when standing on the SD/Mexico border years ago...looking into Mexico and seeing basically a desert, and looking into America and seeing all green and trees and whatever growing....you can't tell me that's natural...maybe at some point many hundreds of miles north near SF or so it would change what with all the rain Seattle and Oregon are famous for, and all that FOG comes from somewhere on the GG Bridge...they are lo lying clouds...

that clear demarcation line on the border is NOT a natural occurrence,

everyone wants that patch of green called a lawn, to ME, it's a PIA, and always has been, but that aside, I noted the same thing on a visit to El Paso once, and years ago to another town in south Texas on the border, I forget the name of it.....same thing....I can understand watering FARMS, but no one is farming that underbrush...

another mystery about it, all this shit with them fires started in the national news about ten years ago, as I have said....~20+ years ago it was hardly if EVER heard of....what changed,?? and don't pull out GWarming, as that's not true....

:hissyfit::huh:

What changed is the 24hr news networks ran out of wars to cover. First it was GW1, then Somalia, but there was this lull in "news" and they had 24 hours to fill. So just about everything becomes news. Why the hell do you think the funeral procession of MJ was on for 5 or 6 hours? Nothing else that could be called "news".

Well Gene, your full of it this time. You must have looked at the eastern border with Mexico. The western/coastal region has been Chaparrel for thousands of years. I studied it at university. No one irrigates the National Forrests where these fires are located.
Scrub oak, sage brush, black sage, white sage, and all the other species REQUIRE fire to germinate. It has evolved over thousands of years. Gods lawnmower if you will.
The ancient indians of this region describe "smog." The inversion layers that help trap smog here also trapped smoke from wildfires. That is the "smog" they saw.

? and don't pull out GWarming, as that's not true....

Global warming is a FACT. The only component debatable is the % that is natural, and the % that is man made.
1)There are almost ZERO glaciers left in Glacier National Park
2)For the first time in recorded history, there IS a Northwest Passaage.
I could list many, but these come to mind.

The Forrestry Service had approved and funded for 1,200 acres of back burning. Hoiwever, only 193 acres were burned due to unfavorable conditions before the Station Fire broke out.
Back burning has to be done during favorable conditions, or it can get awaay from the controlled burn.

Goes back to how irresponsible the state is with YOUR tax money. Maybe if they weren't so busy providing illegals with every little comfort in life, they could do some of the stuff they're required to do.

I have no arguement with that statement. I CAN say alot of that stems from Federal Law that mandates that crap.

Fact but not anything MAN made....and not MUCH of a fact in the scheme of thing via physics....sunspots have been raging for some time now, heating Mars also....apparently....
and for some reason there is a warm water discharge going on under some iceburgs in the north pole.....
like happen in many spots in the Pacific region....the earth is full of volcanic activity under the seas, and always has been, it's a matter of degrees....
some degrees are higher than others....
there is ample evidence that any man made discharge is very very very minor I think it's co2 they talking of, and that's like .001% of the atmosphere, for something equally unimportant....
meanwhile, we have DiHydrogenMonoxide which is MUCH more lethal and important in the sheer quantities it is present....

We simply must do something to eliminate all that DiHydrogenMonoxide....

We need to get rid of all the water? DiHydrogenMonoxide= water

If it's ice its not water so freeze it and the problem is solved..........:huh:
