This is the future of cars! A little bit of a infrastructure and logistics challenge, but the technology is here today! Question is will they make it affordable before I kick the bucket. :suspicious:

Fuel cell...great technology.
But hand operated throttle.....belongs on boats or planes. I'm keeping my pedals.
Drive by wire....all 3 of my cars have DBW throttle. Brakes are already electronically modulated. Steering is next but will probably be a safety feature to prevent drivers from killing themselves, or someone else.

For now : Thorium reactor, fail-safe nuclear reactor with almost infinite source of cheap fuel.
For later : direct photosynthesis, in ten years from now we'll be producing hydrogen directly from sunlight without the wastefull electricity step.
That's the way to go, car batteries cells are an environmental disaster.

The real trick is how to safely store the hydrogen in the car.
